Residents of the Windsor’s westside, will finally no longer have to trudge over to downtown, or to the university to get their fix of caffeine.
Nader’s Quality Cuisine & Cafe has set up shop on the corner of University & Campbell, one of the few businesses to do so in some years. Founded by couple; Nathan & Katie less than a year ago, Nader’s has already established itself as the community hub of the local neighbourhood. The couple, who originally hail from the Windsor area, had spent some years in Vancouver before finally coming home to open Nader’s. Coming in one can really feel those west coast vibes and any newcomers to Nader’s never stay strangers for long.
Nathan says he wanted to create a place that would become a place that everyone in the neighbourhood could gather and socialize- something he feels is lacking in today’s society.
Needless to say, if in the west end, and looking for a coffee joint that offers unpretentious, non-judgemental service, Nader’s is the go-to spot.
Definitely try the Teddy Bear Tea- a very customizable drink that comes in all flavours but in its most basic form is tea topped with a milk foam. ($3) You will not be disappointed by the size of their large drinks.
Coffee is also $1 if you bring your own cup.
When should I go?
Nader’s is open Monday-Friday, 10-11 and on Saturdays, from 10-7. On Saturday mornings, Nader’s puts on their Underground Breakfast, where one can find a very good reasonably priced brunch.
